Attorney Jay A. Scherline founded the Law Offices of Scherline and Associates in 1976 and has concentrated his practice on representing injured victims throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York for over thirty years. Atty. Scherline is admitted to the Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York Courts, and before the United States Supreme Court. After graduating with a degree in business, Atty. Scherline received his law degree from Vermont Law School where he served on the Student Judiciary. A member of the Lehigh County (Past President), Northampton County, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, and American Bar Associations, Atty. Scherline is also a State and Federal Court-Appointed Arbitrator and Mediator and is admitted to the Federal Courts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. In addition, Atty. Scherline is a member of the American Association for Justice (formerly known as ATLA), the Pennsylvania Association for Justice and New Jersey Association for Justice.

A true humanitarian, Atty. Scherline is involved in many organizations including the Minsi Trails Council's Learning for Life career awareness program (Chair), B'nai B'rith Senior Citizen Housing Corporation (Board of Directors), Jewish Family Service (Director) and Citizens for a Better Allentown (Founder). Atty. Scherline's involvement in the community has made him the recipient of many awards including the Spirit of Partnership Award from Big Brothers and Sisters, Legal Eagle” Award from the Bar Association of Lehigh County, Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition, Human Relations Award from the Allentown Human Relations Commission, and American Hero for Arthritis award (1998), Philanthropist of the Year award (2001), and National Volunteer Service Citation (2009) from the Arthritis Foundation, and many other recognitions.

In addition to his philanthropic work, Atty. Scherline has written multiple articles on topics such as community service ("An Attorney's Civic Duty, Giving Back to the Community" published in Marketing Legal Services Committee's Committee Update, a publication of the ABA General Practice Section), legal balance (Balance and Practice of Law for the Pennsylvania Bar Association's PBI Institute), and personal injury (State Law Regulates Tort Options for Automobile Insurance published in the Eastern Pennsylvania Business Journal; Proper Auto Insurance Protects Your Legal Rights published in La Cronica newspaper). Atty. Scherline has also lectured at Lehigh University, Lehigh Carbon Community College, the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, Lehigh and Northampton County Bar Associations, as well as many local churches and synagogues. He has also lectured at numerous local crime watch groups on topics such as automobile insurance law, identity theft and techniques of negotiation. Married with two grown sons, Atty. Scherline enjoys volunteering, traveling, Broadway shows, speaking Spanish, and going to the gym in his free time.
